Helping Fellow Etsians

Yesterday, I shared with you an awesome forum on Etsy called Let's help each other! Well, let me tell you, it has been wonderful. I have seen gorgeous work by some very talented artists and plan to keep tweeting, facebooking and blogging about the artists and their items. I sold 4 things today because of this!

I would like to share a couple more items...

I am in love with these little canisters by ocasiocasa on Etsy.

upcycled mixed-nut containers with a sculpted form of decoupage, paint and finish. They’re just the right size for keeping small items together, such as craft supplies or individually wrapped candies. View this and many more super cool canisters and bottles here.

Got sensitive skin? Dreemseeds on Etsy has this lovely Avena soap in her Etsy shop.

Gentle calendula and oats help to soothe skin, while gently cleaning. And, $1 from each bar is donated to United Plant Savers. This organization keeps a close eye on native plants that are becoming endangered and at risk. How awesome is that?

Sand Painting Pendant Necklace Multi ColoredFree silver by Twist21

Handmade Success posted this link to an Etsy forum yesterday...

""Danielle from Twist21 emailed me to share a cool forum link. She created the thread "let's help each other" on the Etsy forums, and I think her idea is really resourceful and brilliant! You pick an item that you like from someone above you on the list and share it for them via Facebook, Twitter, or blog. Then you post about it and you are on the list for someone else to return the favor. This way your product gets shared with an entirely new channel of people. Great idea Danielle!""

I had the privelege of tweeting, blogging and facebooking Twist21's shop and chose this lovely pendant...

I think this is a great idea and hope everyone involved sees an increase in traffic to their shops, new hearts and lots of sales! Good luck fellow sellers!

Boxes Boxes Boxes

Okay, so I suffer from a severe case of Craft A.D.D.

My new obsession is making little origami boxes out of any piece of paper I can lay my grubby little hands on. They are just so darn cute! I have a stash of scrapbooking paper under the bed in my craft room.

(I really wanted to get into scrapbooking, but there is just so much stuff you “have to have”. I went to a scrapbooking night a while ago, and boy, I was like the poor, unpopular, awkward girl with the weird lunch trying to sit at the cheerleaders table. These ladies were rolling suitcases filled with thousands of dollars worth of cutters, printers, cricuts, papers, stickers, inks, etc. Definitely out of my league!)

Anywhooo….

I made these cute boxes instead

Love owls, they are everywhere right now.

Woodland animals are also very popular at the moment

And who doesn't love pink cupcakes?!

I found some comic books at the Goodwill the other day.

.

We went to dinner with my husbands company, and I snatched a stack of colorful takeout menus from the restaurant on the way out.

My library sells its’ old books for 10 cents a piece or 15 books for a dollar! So, I have a nice stack of children’s books from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. I can’t bear to destroy them..........yet.........

If you are interested in making boxes like these, here is a link to a super awesome tutorial by Mary on Etsy. Well, time to get motivated to list some more stuff on eBay, have a great weekend!
